Arthur Malakyan is founding owner, chief instructor and choreographer of Caliente Ballroom. His skills, expertise and artistic talent are at the core of the studio. His love for dance started very early, when he was only 6 years old. He majored in performing arts, and has traveled the world competing and performing on many international stages. Artur has raised generations of professional as well as amateur dancers in his hometown of Yerevan, Armenia and brought those skills and talent to Charleston, South Carolina 11 years ago. In November 2019, with the support of his family and friends, he founded Caliente Ballroom and recently opened his state of the art 4,200 sf facility in Mount Pleasant offering private lessons, group classes, competition training, showcase, and socials. All the routines for the annual showcases and performances are choreographed by him. Artur has an endless supply of creativity, enthusiasm and love of dance which becomes apparent each and every time he steps onto the floor!
